Project Summary
  T-Rex has an immediate and exciting opportunity to build, support and operate a large-scale archiving management system for the National Archives and records Administration (NARA) entitled the Electronic Records Archive (ERA) system. ERA will authentically preserve and provide appropriate access to any kind of federally managed electronic record of our nation's history, free from dependence on any specific hardware or software. You will help T-Rex and its customers build, test and deliver a system that address and solves the dilemma of preserving and accessing electronic records that are complex by nature, diverse in format and exponentially increasing in volume. As a member of the ERA team, you will play a critical role in the success of the ERA mission and have the opportunity to participate in a collaborative large-project environment.


Skills Required
 
  • Experience with rapid prototype development
  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision in a short timeframe
  • Extensive Java/JEE development experience
  • Prior experience with XQuery/XPath
  • Experience in a Linux development environment
  • Knowledge of XML databases
  • Strong knowledge of SOA concepts
  • Knowledge of EJB3/JAX-WS web services
  • Familiarity with Java/JEE Development Technologies: Eclipse, Weblogic, Apache ANT, Apache Commons Libraries, JAXP, EJB3
  • Strong communication and team support skills

Skills Desired
 
  • Experience with Alfresco web content management system
  • Prior experience with FAST search engine
  • Experience with an archival system like Hitachi Content Archival Platform
  • Prior experience with virus scanners, PST email readers, RFC-822
  • Experience with WebLogic Application Server and Oracle RDBMS
  • Prior experience working on a large federal government program

Duties & Responsibilities
  As a Software Developer on the NARA ERA project, you will be responsible for development using Java and J2EE in an Agile Development environment. You will be responsible for website design and development, to include web page design and web user interface design. In addition, you will work with XForms development as well as BPM and BPEL standards.
