Project Summary
  The En Route Automation Modernization (ERAM) program will replace the existing en route Air Traffic Control (ATC) automation systems and selected en route infrastructure with a modernized automation environment that supports legacy and new functional capabilities. The automation systems to be replaced by the ERAM program include Host Computer System (HCS) software/hardware, Direct Access Radar Channel (DARC) software/hardware, and the Host Interface Device/National Airspace System Local Area Network (HID/NAS LAN). En route infrastructure to be replaced include: equipment supporting HCS/DARC data communications with other en route system components and legacy monitor and control capabilities for selected en route systems.


Skills Required
 
  • Prior experience with the software engineering full life-cycle
  • Extensive UNIX OS Programming Knowledge, with understanding of POSIX and multi-tasking
  • Experience with distributed software systems
  • Software development experience with Java, C/C++ and/or ADA
  • Strong realtime debugging skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a group
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Skills Desired
 
  • Prior experience working on a large scale government program
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field

Duties & Responsibilities
  As a Software Developer on the ERAM program, you will provide support to the ERAM Datacomm CSCI Architecture Team. You will be responsible for software design, coding, and testing of new requirements and changes to existing systems. You will also provide Problem Tracking Report (PTR) resolution, which will involve problem isolation through problem resolution to delivery of tested fix. In addition, you will perform complex analysis, design, development, testing and debugging of computer software. Activities will range from operating system architecture and integration to selection of computer systems, languages and/or equipment.
