Project Summary
  T-Rex has an immediate and exciting opportunity to build, support and operate a large-scale archiving management system for the National Archives and records Administration (NARA) entitled the Electronic Records Archive (ERA) system. ERA will authentically preserve and provide appropriate access to any kind of federally managed electronic record of our nation's history, free from dependence on any specific hardware or software. You will help T-Rex and its customers build, test and deliver a system that address and solves the dilemma of preserving and accessing electronic records that are complex by nature, diverse in format and exponentially increasing in volume. As a member of the ERA team, you will play a critical role in the success of the ERA mission and have the opportunity to participate in a collaborative large-project environment.


Skills Required
 
  • Extensive human factors experience
  • Extensive experience developing computer-based user interfaces
  • Prior experience developing browser based applications
  • Experience working with customers on user interface designs for complex systems
  • Experience working with customers in formal human factors labs and developing testing scenarios
  • Prior experience working with a graphic designer on the design and development of the user interface
  • Strong customer interfacing skills

Skills Desired
 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of full-lifecycle applications development process
  • Prior experience supporting a large government program

Duties & Responsibilities
  As a Human Factors Engineer on the NARA program, you will work to validate functional requirements and their realization within the system. You will be responsible for clearly defining dependencies and will work closely with the system architect, systems engineering and development leads. You will use your comprehensive knowledge of the applications development process to develop computer-based user interfaces as well as browser-based applications. In addition, you will work in formal human factors labs to develop testing scenarios as well as design and develop the user interface.
